CEED in Action
CEED’s founders, Jamie Paige, Devon Reilly and Lucy Hadl, were inspired to start CEED through witnessing firsthand the plight of many women in Africa – their daily struggle to feed, clothe and educate themselves and their children in a society deeply embedded in gender segregation and inequality. Much of what we take for granted in the U.S., the opportunity to live among men as equals and work at most any profession we want for example, is not available to many African women. We’re taking a step to change this reality, by starting a company that helps women in Ghana, West Africa in a lasting, tangible way. Our company name – CEED – is an acronym for four powerful verbs, verbs we look to everyday for motivation and perspective – Change, Empower, Employ and Dignify.
